We're delighted to celebrate Allie Kagamaster as our Tutor of the Month for July 2026! Based in Southern California, Allie brings creativity, warmth, and a storyteller's heart to every session, inspiring students to fall in love with learning.

Allie holds a BA in Communications and Journalism from Cal State Fullerton and joined Firefly Tutors in November 2025. Over the years, she has supported students in Language Arts, Writing, Reading, History, Literature, and Social Studies, and taught conversational English and ESL to exchange students. Today, she tutors students from elementary school through college, specializing in storytelling, grammar, and Language Arts.

What Allie loves most about tutoring is helping students discover what they're capable of. "I love to instill creativity and a spirit of can-do in my students. It's everything to watch a student grasp a concept or finish a project that might've felt impossible," she shares.

Her proudest moments come from watching kids grow in confidence while holding onto their own individuality. Her favorite tip reflects that same spirit: help each child discover their own unique talent, so they can find their own best way to tackle the task in front of them.

Outside of tutoring, Allie once worked as an extra in a Hollywood film alongside John Travolta, lived in Japan as a Navy wife with her three kids and two cats, and is the author of two memoirs and a short story collection, with articles regularly appearing on Substack.

Allie's creativity and belief in every student make her a wonderful part of the Firefly Tutors team.
